The only government owned institution for Film making; Zahir Raihan Color Lab of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) has become almost obsolete.Because of the current hot trend of Digital Film making, the institute getting no projects to work. Almost all Dhallywood film makers depends on foreign institutes (Mainly, India, Thailand and Malaysia) for most of the post production works (Color Adjustment, Adding visual special effects, Sound design, Sound effects, ADR etc).
Furthermore, Zahir Raihan Color Lab’s poor maintenance, low quality and outdated technology has made it quite impossible for film makers to do Post Production for their film in Bangladesh. However, Film maker and actor Ananta Jalil (M A Jalil Ananta) has announced to build a New Motion Picture Post Production Lab, with the latest and best technology possible.
He is planning to set this film making lab in his own apartments at Kawran bazar. Film Actor Ananta Jalil is determined to complete the Post Production of his films “The Spy” and “The Search 2″ in his planned Color Lab. Both the movies are expected to release in 2015. He returned to Dhaka from Thailand on 13th December 2013, after finished the shooting of Most Welcome 2.
Ananta Jalil’s Media Manager Sajib Said, “We have a plan to build the two storied film making lab at our own building’s 14 and 15 floors at kawran bazar”. He also said that, the proposed studio will be as enrich as the “Prasad Studio”, largest chain of post-production facilities in India. He also said, “Most Welcome 2” is almost completed and the rest of the works will resume in 15th January.
The movie is scheduled to release in upcoming Valentine’s Day. Film’s script written by and directed by Ananta Jalil and Clive Curtis. The main casts of the film are Ananta Jalil, Afiea Nusrat Barsha and Jackie Shroff. Bipasha Basu and Subhasree Ganguly will be doing a cameo in the film.
