Fatema Tuz Zohra is a renowned Nazrul singer has been seen acting in several television dramas in main characters. Now she is going to act in the bangla cinema named ‘Valobasha shadakalo’ directed by Golam Mostofa Shimul. Fatema Tuz Zohora said, “I have no prior preparation or interest to act in the cinemas. Shimul showed me the script and told that the character of a mother in this cinema is very important. He thinks me as a perfect person to act in that character. So I’ve decided to act in that cinema after much request from everyone.”
The shooting of the cinema had started in 2008 and after five years it is going to be released. Mahfuz Ahmed, Purnima, Poppy and Mahmuduzzaman Babu are other actors in the cinema.
Fatema Tuz Zohra took herself away from acting as two of her acted drama has not been telecasted in any channel. Recently she has come back in the television dramas and acted in the comedy drama named ‘Matal hawoa’ directed by Mehedi Bin Ashraf. The serial will be telecasted in 9.35 am in every Monday and Tuesday in RTV from 13th October.
Fatema said about her acting, “In fact I’m a singer. I love to be busy with singing. I’ve acted in some of the dramas out of request. But I’ve no intension to be regular in acting.”
Fatema Tuz Zohra acted besides singing when she was a student of Joypurhat Government Girl’s School. She acted in the television drama in 1984 for the first time – it was in the drama named ‘Laguk dola’ directed by K M Harun where she acted in the character of a speechless girl. Later actor Khaled Khan was with her in that drama. Fatema also acted in the dramas ‘Sheuly mala’ whose script was based upon a story of Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and another drama ‘Shesher ratri’ based on the novel of Rabindronath Tagore. Fatema said that she has so far acted in 11 television dramas.
