Shahriar Nafees is a Bangladeshi cricketer who made his debut in the national team when Bangladesh went for their first tour in England. Prior to that his only experience to participate in international cricket was 5 first class matches. In the year of 2005, Shahrier made his debut in ODI against Australia. He scored 75 runs in that match and adjudged Man of the Match. Shahriar Nafees has the record of scoring highest number of one day centuries for Bangladesh. He scored 4 centuries so far.
Shahriar Nafees scored his first test hundred in Australia. The match took place in Fatullah stadium of Narayangonj where Bangladesh piled up a huge 355 runs in the first day of the test. It is the highest total for Bangladesh in a single day of test cricket.
Shahriar Nafees made his first ODI century in 2006 against Zimbabwe. He became selected as the vice captain of the national team in the Champions Trophy that took place in India, October, 2006. He completed his second ODI hundred in that tournament against Zimbabwe. In November of that year he scored his third hundred of ODI career and it was again against Zimbabwe.
Shahriar Nafees suspended From Bangladesh Cricket
In 2008 Shahriar Nafees went to play Indian Cricket League (ICL) without the permission of board. As a result, board suspended him for 10 years. Later when he got detached with ICL in September, 2008 the board lifted the suspension; Nafees played for Bangladesh again in October, 2010 in the series against NewZealand.
