Soumya Sarkar is considered to be one of the most talented rising cricketers of Bangladesh. He got admitted in Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) with a dream to join in the national team.
Bangladeshi cricketer Soumya Sarkar plays for Rajshahi division in the domestic league. In Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, he plays for league champion Victoria. Soumya showed spark of talent when he smashed a double hundred against Qatar in Under – 19 Asia Cup of 2012. He scored a formidable 209 runs playing just 135 balls in the match that was held in Kualalampur. It is the highest score by any Bangladeshi cricketer in all forms of cricket.
In 2013, he played for under – 23 team in Singapore. He is a player of under – 19 age group but the team management wanted a genuine batsman in the place of Tamim Iqbal who is absent due to injury. It is his first appearance in the national team.
Soumya Sarkar is known as a hard hitter batsman in the domestic cricket and thus he attracted the national team selector. He is a left handed batsman and right handed bowler.
